Current favourites
I always love these kinds of posts on other blogs, so here are my current favourite makeup-products.
Disclaimer: there are more high-end products in this post than in the last one, but I still use tons of drugstore products as well.

The Naked Palette by Urban Decay
Okay, so this palette? Has been hyped to all heavens since it came out. To the point of getting annoying, really. Especially when you don’t have it. The thing is, though: it is absolutely amazing! Everything about it is amazing, the colours, the application, the texture, the finish, absolutely everything. Even the usually useless brush that comes with it is pretty amazing. I use this palette so often, you can do so much with it. As you can see in the second photo, I also have the Naked 2 Palette, which is good too, but the Naked is just perfect, its successor is pretty much unnecessary. Except of course for Urban Decay to make more money. I say, why not?

Precious Mineral BB Cream by Etude House
This is a pretty heavy-duty BB Cream. The coverage and the finish are wonderful, and it’s mattifying pretty much all day long. I don’t use this everyday, but when I feel like I’d be more comfortable with more coverage, this is what I grab.

Marble Mania Mascara by Essence
Essence is a “cheap” brand sold mainly in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (I think?). The products are sometimes a little hit or miss, but they have surprisingly good things for such a wallet-friendly brand. This mascara is from a Limited Edition called Marble Mania. When applied, you can’t see any marbley-effect, it just comes out black. But for my lashes, it’s perfect, because it’s not sticky, it separates, makes them look thicker, and maybe a little longer. I really like it. The only downside (to me) is that the brush is quite large and thick.

Eyebrow Gel by Alverde
I’ve only had these for a couple of days, and I have only used the “Blonde” one so far, but I am so happy with it! I have seriously stupid eyebrows. They have no shape and no colour and I just really dislike them. So when I have to fill them in with powder or a pencil, it looks unnatural. With this gel, I get a better shape and of course some colour, but it doesn’t look painted. I suspect that the brown one will be too dark for me, but we’ll see.

Water Flash Lipgloss by Manhattan
I am not a big fan of lipgloss. They are usually sticky and gross and feel weird on my lips. And I don’t know how people don’t get their hair stuck to their lips all the friggin time. But I really like this one. It came in my Pink Box this week, and: it’s not sticky! The colour probably wouldn’t be my first choice if I bought it, but it’s really nice. I might actually buy this in another colour, too.

Lipliner “Whirl” by MAC
I love this liner because it’s almost exactly my natural lip colour, maybe one or two shades darker. So when I don’t feel like wearing lipstick, I just use this to fill in my whole lips and then put some balm or some gloss over it, and voilà. Looks really natural.

Fenberry Blush by Sleek
I am a huge fan of Sleek blushes. Of Sleek in general, actually. Their eyeshadow palettes are amazing, too. This is one of my favourite colours, it’s so beautiful!

Beauty Blender
I find that the Beauty Blender works makeup (or BB Cream) into your skin much better than a brush. It kind of makes it melt into your skin, in a way. It also greatly reduces the chance of makeup-lines, which I appreciate. Of course the thing is much too expensive, so I’m hoping that some cheapo-brand will make a dupe for it soon.

Cruel Gardenia by Guerlain
Oh my god. This is the most expensive beauty-product I have ever bought, and it’s also my baby. I know it looks used, because, eh, I have used it, but isn’t it absolutely beautiful? The shimmer, the changing colours, argh, it’s just perfect.
Do you like these kinds of posts? I don’t know if they are helpful to anyone, and I also don’t want to seem to be bragging and be all “look what I have”, but this is my hobby, and one of the only things I actually spend (lots of) money on, so I do like to show off a little bit.
Also, I have deleted all my millions of other blogs, German and English and all, and will use this one exclusively from now on.
Thanks for reading, and I love comments!
Sunday Night Randomness
|WATCHED| The When/If episode of Grey’s Anatomy. That was so bad! Also, Private Practice (Charlotte <3), Pretty Little Liars (WHY???), Hoarders, Intervention… oh, and DSDS.
|READ| About the Sky Metalwala case. The more I read about these things, the more I think that every single person on this planet is either nucking futs or really bad.
|LISTENED TO| Energy Basel
|DONE| Rearranged my bedroom YET AGAIN. Dyed my hair. Worked. Froze.
|EATEN| Huge amazing brunch buffet today!
|DRUNK| Water. Diet Coke. Wine. Coffee. Orange vodka.
|THOUGHT| Decided to not buy makeup in February. (Doing good so far!)
|HAPPY ABOUT| My dog, as always. <3
|ANNOYED WITH| The car, because it froze up and wouldn’t start today. And I mean literally froze. From the cold. Also, certain people…
|WISHED FOR| Just 10° more would be nice just about now. Holy shit, it’s so cold!
|BOUGHT| Just groceries. Oh, and boots.

Used up in January
1. Elvital Arginin Resist Shampoo and Conditioner
Shampoo and Conditioner supposed to prevent hair loss. Eh, I don’t know. I’m not crazy about it, it made my hair even strawier (that’s not a word, is it?).
I will not buy this again in the near future.
2. I Am Perfect Color Shampoo and Conditioner
I Am is the house-brand of the Swiss Migros (big grocery store chain). They are good-priced and I actually like them quite a lot. They’re no worse than any more expensive shampoo I’ve ever used. But I do have effed up hair, so yeah.
Will possibly or even probably buy again.
3. Elsève Volume Collagene Shampoo
This is a pretty good shampoo for my hair-type. The volume thing kind of works, but of course I don’t really have problems with that to begin with.
Might buy again.
4. Elsève Color-Vive Conditioner
I honestly can’t remember if this conditioner was any good. I *think* it was quite nice, but I wouldn’t want to say anything wrong.
Might buy again.
5. Candida Parodin Plus Mouth Wash
Mmm, cinnamon! I love this mouth wash. It’s not too harsh, I bought Listerine a while ago and Oh Em Gee that shit burned my mouth! But Candida is great, especially this version.
Will most definitely buy again.
6. Balea Traumgeschöpf Shower Gel
This is a limited edition product from the German Drogerie Markt, Balea is their house-brand. I’m not sure it’s still available right now, but it’s so incredibly good. To me, it’s smells like peach, although the description says something else. It’s amazing.
If still available, I will buy this again.
7. Kneipp Bath Pearls Landlust
Smells like apples and grapes. Do I have to say anymore? It’s amazing, although it turns the water into some kind of crime scene imitation: really red!
Will probably buy again.
8. Dresdner Essenz Bubble Bath
Sadly, I can’t remember if I liked this.
Might buy this again, because I love baths.
9. cK Contradiction Eau de Toilette
My favourite perfume. Luckily, I have a backup. It’s just so amazing!
Won’t have to buy for quite a while, but if I ever empty it, I’ll need it again.
10. Alverde Face Wash with Seaweed
This is the face wash I’ve been using for the past months. I really like it, that’s why I bought it again.
Will probably buy this again.
11. I Am Face Wipes
I use these as part of my evening face-washing routine. I like them, because they are not almost dry like others, but they’re not all soapy either, just right for me.
Will definitely buy again.
No make-up in February
And that title doesn’t refer to wearing it. I will not buy any for a whole month. I have gone a little overboard lately, and it needs to stop. I have so much stuff, I could never buy any make-up again and still be able to put my face on everyday for the rest of my life. Maybe not quite, but really, I need to give my bank account a break. It’s just been too much.
So, these are the rules.
For the next 29 days, I will not buy:
- lipstick
- lipgloss
- blush
- eyeshadow
- mascara
- eyeliner
- face powder
- foundation
- nail polish
Things I am allowed to buy as needed (no hoarding):
- ONE face base/primer, and only if the one I have is empty before the end of February
- shampoo
- conditioner
- shower gel
- nail polish remover
- face wipes, cotton balls, etc.
WISH ME LUCK!
This is going to be me this month: *sadface*
